The shape of the future - Community-led planning

Written by Cllrs Chris Wise & Janet Godden and published in LINK - local community newsletter on Wed 1st Oct 2008

In Oxfordshire, more communities than ever are involved in shaping their own future by developing parish, market town or neighbourhood action plans.

Together with our partners in the districts, the Primary Care Trust and the voluntary and community sector, the County Council has made considerable progress in supporting community-led plans. Officers across a wide range of services are already advising and working with them, as shown in the latest monitoring report.

For the future, the draft Sustainable Community Strategy, Oxfordshire 2030, includes pledges to increase the number of community-led plans and the number of actions implemented over the next three years. Don't forget to take part in the web poll which is all about community-led plans.
