BMW, budgets and council motions - letter to Oxford Mail

It appears that John Howell is continuing to have problems understanding the English language (letters, 29th April). I have no objection whatsoever to congratulating BMW - and do so now through the medium of this letter. On the other hand, one wonders why the Tories persist in singling out this one firm in Oxfordshire, when there are so many others that are deserving of recognition. I would like to congratulate them all.
The important motions that Cllr Howell dismisses so lightly were neither "spendthrift" nor "reckless". Indeed, some of those I listed as being deserving of attention were from his own group.
And as for the budget, our proposals were clearly amendments to his group's budget. We decided to publish only those areas where we disagreed; most people would find this approach helpful and easier to follow. His maths is clearly as poor as his language.
