Dear Sir
Actually, it is the Oxford Mail that owes Cllr Terry Joslin an apology (letters, 6th May) - for cutting the credits that I gave to councillors of all other parties from my original letter (April 24th). In editing the letter, the Mail has inadvertently made it look as if I was claiming that the motions I mentioned were all put down by Lib Dems.
Not so. Here is my original wording: "Cllr. Jean Fooks' motions on the Education White Paper were voted down, Cllr. Bob Johnston's motion on reducing packaging was agreed, Cllr. Fooks' motion on healthy school meals was agreed, Cllr. Tilley's motion on plain English was agreed, Cllr. Patrick Greene's motion on tackling chewing gum was agreed, Cllr Hudspeth's motion against post office closures was agreed, Cllr. Joslin's motion calling for debate on the nuclear industry was agreed as was his motion on medical research companies." In fact, part of the point I was making in my letter is that all parties, including Cllr Howell's Conservatives, had very important motions at this council meeting.
I and my fellow Liberal Democrat councillors are always happy to support and work with other councillors when we are in agreement with each other.
Yours faithfully,
Cllr Zoé Patrick
