Liberal Democrat Leader, Cllr Zoé Patrick, is calling on the Government to revise their formula for allocating health money. She said, "Oxfordshire receives 15% less than the English national average for our NHS services, and this means our hospitals have far less money than most. As the hospital trusts have to cut back their services to patients, there will be serious consequences for the County Council. Large numbers of older and vulnerable people will have to be cared for at home, with a knock-on effect on their families and the demand made on social and health care workers.
"I am suggesting that the County Council, which is badly affected by health cuts, asks the Government to review their health spending formula which leaves this county at the bottom of the list for the amount spent per head in the country."
