Liberal Democrat budget - members' allowances

One item that has not been mentioned during the budget debates is the Liberal Democrat proposal to freeze councillors' allowances. I believe it is totally wrong for members' allowances to rise next year when so many in Oxfordshire are suffering cash crises. With many losing their jobs and an increasing number of my residents calling me, worried about how they will pay their increasing fuel bills, a freeze on allowances for a year seems only fair.
