New Sound System in County Hall - Overdue but Welcome Now

I am speaking today in support of the proposal to include a supplementary estimate of £60k to meet the costs of a new sound system in the committee rooms and Council Chamber which is being installed in March/April.

I welcome that this long-standing problem with our sound system is at last being recognised. I have raised this many times, especially the importance of the public being able to hear at our meetings, but usually this has fallen on deaf ears.

I am pleased that the Cabinet have now chosen to take this matter seriously and is making sure there is some money available to get this done - not before time!
