Cllr Chris Wise, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Wootton, has welcomed news of a new County Council subsidised bus service for Wootton.

The new 4B route will operate along the Wootton Road in Abingdon, via Whitecross, Wootton and Cumnor to Oxford.

From Sunday, September 25 there will be a full hourly service running to both Abingdon and Oxford on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

From Monday 26th September, the current gap in the Monday to Saturday evening service will be filled by an hourly service running to both Abingdon and Oxford.

Route 4, which is unsubsidised, will continue to operate as now during the daytime from Monday to Saturday.

Chris said, "I am sure that residents, particularly young people in Wootton will appreciate the improved access to Oxford and Abingdon in the evenings."
