Nick Clegg Visits Oxford to Thank Volunteers

During Nick Clegg's visit to Oxford last Thursday, Nick joined County Group Leader, Zoe Patrick and South East candidate for the European Parliament, Catherine Bearder, on a special trip to the Oxford Liberal Democrats, where they thanked volunteers for the hard work they are doing to get Liberal Democrats elected on the 4th June.

Zoe Patrick said, ""I urge everyone to use their vote wisely on Thursday and realise that they are voting for their local county councillor who will be representing them on local issues for the next 4 years at County Hall.'

Catherine Bearder commented, "Campaigns can't operate effectively without the hard-work and dedication of all our volunteers. These people are giving up huge amounts of their time because, like me, they believe Britain can become safer, more economically prosperous, and more environmentally sustainable if it's a part of the EU.

"With the Labour Party currently in self-destruct mode, it's only the Liberal Democrats that can fight the voice of nationalism coming from the BNP, UKIP and many far right-wingers in the Conservative Party.

"By doing so, I hope Liberal Democrat MEPs can repay the faith our staff, campaigners and volunteers have put in us."
